Very high quality canton style restaurant for congee, noodles, over-rice, and roast meat. I personally come here once a week because of the price that it offers for the quality of food. Not going to find a fancy dining experience here, but definitely great bang for the buck kind of restaurant locally in Elmhurst. My personal favorite is their salt & pepper fried pork chop over rice, tender and juicy insider. Their congee is also top-notch, especially the preserved-egg congee. Don't forget to get their fried sweet dough, pretty unique in NY, although it's common in Canton China. Service was okay, but not something I would value highly at this price point.

My go to place for char siu over rice in ELMHURST. GREAT TASTINGbbq meats. One of the best roast pork joints in Elmhurst. Friendly staff. CASH ONLY since Covid. Has all types of bbq meats, congee, and dinner dishes. Hours may not be updated on Yelp so call to make sure it's open. 12/30/23 - bought $85 worth of meats and asked for extra ginger scallion in a tiny plastic condiment container and they said i would need to pay for it!!! That's sad. And still cash only since covid!

First the take out menu says Shun Won. The inside is not much to speak of and sometimes the people seem curt but they have the most authentic Chinese food I've had. Their casserole dishes are excellent. My dad especially likes their fried fish fillet with bean curd. You can't go wrong with the dishes on rice. Their chow fun and mei fun is also good. It's just good Cantonese comfort food for me.

I would have I say I am quite impressed with this very unassuming little restaurant in Elmhurst. This review is mainly based on their BBQ meats. I am visiting New York and staying around the Woodside, Queens area. I needed to pickup some Chinese BBQ meats early this morning to take to upstate New York for a family gathering. Originally I thought I would have to go to Manhattan Chinatown or at least Flushing. I was researching on Yelp and found this restaurant close by that opens at 8am. I decided to give it a try and they did not disappoint. At 9am, I bought a roast duck, a soy sauce chicken, a big piece of BBQ pork, and a slab of roast pork belly. Everything tasted good and the skin on the roast pork belly was still crunchy after a few hours. The BBQ pork was moist and had the right amount of marbling. The duck was meaty and tasty, and its skin was kinda crispy. The soy sauce chicken was also very good. Before I tried them, I was skeptical about them being fresh so early in the morning; but I was wrong. I also have to say that the guy chopping the meat and the lady at the cash register were both very friendly and courteous. Maybe speaking the right language helped! Having this restaurant in the neighborhood is a huge plus. Sure beats taking the time to go to Manhattan Chinatown or Flushing if you want decent Cantonese food in the Queens area. I will have to try their congee and other dishes when I get a chance.

Review is only for takeout. The roast meats are of good quality and service is friendly and efficient. Prices have recently gone up, so be aware if you're a regular (of which there are many). I thought the minced beef congee was particularly flavorful. Fried dough sticks sell out early on the weekends, but I enjoyed the sweet version I was able to get. The rice noodles in the 叉燒腸 were too thick in my opinion but everything else tasted good.
